It's time to revive this thread. I'm building a new Audio PC. I always used intel or Supermicro server boards as I've found them better sounding than all consumer type motherboards I had. This time I decided to try Tyan.

Other components for this build are:
- Intel Xeon E3-1240L v5 (quad core, @2.1GHz, max TDP of 25W, no GPU)
- 2x4GB Apacer ECC DDR4 UDIMM RAM - industrial grade, extended temp. range (-40 - +85)
- JCAT NET Card FEMTO (connects directly to JCAT NET in Control PC)
- JCAT USB Card FEMTO (connects to my APL DSD-M USB DAC)
- OCXO CF-SATA adapter /w 32GB Apacer SLC CF card for OS - industrial grade, extended temp. range (-40 - +85)
- JCAT Reference SATA cable (will be released this month)
- 400W ATX Linear Power Supply (to power the PC and JCAT cards)
- Audio PC Chassis for JCAT: Ltd Edition (passive cooling on heatsinks)
OS will be W2016 Server Core. I will use a PCI-e graphic card during installation and configuration stage. After that, the PCI-e GPU will be removed and the PC will be headless.
I'll keep you posted how the PC performs once I finish the project. My previous build was identical except for the motherboard which was intel S1200SPS. Will be interesting to see how Tyan (S5545AG2NR-HE) performs in comparison to intel.
