After reading Paul Pang's advises on how to improve CAPS v3 Zuma, I decided to remove the SOtM SATA Power Noise Filter from my CAPS v2. I was shocked by the difference. With the filter, music is polite and lifeless. Without, music is emotional, dynamic and full of details.  Of course, this is in my room with my equipment. Anyone tried this?   Adolfo

Same experience for me... I also felt this with their USB2.0 card.

I like the SOtM card and their other products but I also found their SATA filter to be a bit congestive.  It left my pc long ago.

I never liked the SOtM SATA filter either. I have the same opinion as Ted.

What I have not tried is to bypass the data port on the filter (which is a pass-through design but maybe it is flawed) and simply plug in the power only.  But currently have other priorities.
