I'm using the trial version of JPlay under Win7 Pro on a core i5 Dell laptop. I've tried many JPlay settings but in every case so far, playback starts normally but stops after about 5 sec and doesn't resume. I get the same result when using the JPlay mini-player and Foobar2000. In Foobar, the progress bar stops but some audio activity is still displayed even though there's no sound. What could be going on?

Hi David,  Please try increasing DriverBuffer in regedit. See advanced section in our manual here: jplay.eu/manual Let us know how it goes! Regards,  Marcin

Thanks, Marcin but no luck. I increased the value to 5, even to 8, but the result was exactly the same: the file plays for about 5 sec and then stops (actually, first Foobar, then Windows crashed at 8). I had tried an earlier version, 5b, I think for a while and never experienced this problem. Any other thoughts about this?

I tried uninstalling, rebooting, re-installing, rebooting but still no luck. The behavior is consistent - tracks play for 8 sec, then stop and will not resume.

can you set Engine to River and Buffer to max (1024)? if that works, try reducing Buffer... which DAC do you use?

i'm not aware of any users with Crimson, who knows, maybe the driver is a bit 'fresh' still... does it work if you try via WASAPI (or ASIO if it supports it)? as last try, I'd also try with Bitstream set to 24 and 32....

Wavelength uses the Thesycon package

The Thesycon system includes a Control Panel for debugging and setting options. Nothing really needs to be addressed for that and you will not need it. The Thesycon suite also includes an ASIO driver so do not run your new device through any of the after market ASIO drivers like ASIO4ALL as it will cause a conflict in which nothing will work. There is also WASAPI and Kernel Mode inclusion in the driver installation as well as the standard Direct Sound interface.

if it uses TheSycon then i would be _very_ surprised if it didn't work - contact us on support@jplay.eu for remote session in that case...
