Hi all.

I was trying to use some personal images for Artist and Genres in MinimServer but I got lost with configuraration and structure of folders in MS or maybe I got it all wrong trying to show them up in JPLAY.

Maybe my question is out of context but where and how I have to activate folders and images in MinimServer and what would be the setupo to use it from JPLAY?

Thanks in advance.

Hello Gustavo,

I use minimserver as my local source.   To update or change images/genres for individual tracks  you need to update the meta data of the files.  PerfectTunes updates both art and metadata, sourcing art from the internet or files you can upload.

As far as using Minimserver, as long as its running as a service on  your computer, you can select it as a source on JPLAY app.  That's how I do it and it works great, nicely integrated results in JPLAY.

Thanks for the info. I have minimserver running and using it from JPLAY with no issues.

My problem its that i want to use some pictures for artist that are missing and genres. I didn’t find clear info of doing it and will like now if there any trick to setup correctly to consume that images from Minimserver from JPLAY.

Kind regards.

Could you not use the free download of Mp3Tag (https://www.mp3tag.de/en/) to change the pictures and genres in the music folders? Then rescan the library using Minimserver to update the files. After that I assume you should only need to resynch your music library in the JPLAY iOS App to see the new pictures and genres.

Thanks for your reply but my issue it's not related with albums or songs, all tagged and working fine. My issue is related with artists and genres generic pictures, JPLAY grabs them from MinimServer and if don't get them use the ones at Qobuz.

I tried to add genres and artist pictures in MinimServer using indexArtwork but JPLAY seems to ignore the pictures indexed for artists and genres.

Many thanks.

Have you tried to use "Download Artists/Composers" images and "Download Genres images" from MinimServer setting in JPLAY app?

If you prefer you can also add them to your device, please check "On Device Metadata and Images Cache" option.

In the current version, images from Qobuz and TIDAL will still override images from MinimServer, but will not override on device ones.

Thanks for your info but I don't want to duplicate the info I have in my MinimServer locally, I tried to dowload artists and genres but without too much success.

I will keep trying to tweak Minim and see what happens.

Thanks again.

I use Mp3Tag and all files are correctly labeled and tagged but I want to change artist and genre generic pictures. Now for genres is using the first album cover of that category and for artist sometimes is using wrong ones. I am trying to correct that on MinimServer but seems every client manage them differently.

Thanks anyway.

App will try to pick an image, but it can fail to get the appropriated one.

Please check Index artwork section in https://minimserver.com/ug-other.html, on how to import artist and genre images from MinimServer.

You need to can create a folder called indexArtwork on a folder whithing MinimServer, and change "serverOptions" to "indexArtwork=folder". Then you can put images in that folder images for artists and genres(please check the link to see the correct naming of the file), and use import images feature whiting MinimServer settings in JPLAY app.
