Greetings joshraymond1, dodger0629, grunter, RCDingen and Cloclo,
Many Forum participants have streamed via Qobuz and played local files using JPLAY FEMTO and the JPLAY iOS app without difficulty indicating the problem is not exclusively inherent to JPLAY FEMTO or the app (but see below).
Information in the above posts indicates that, for some users at least, the issue may be usage or system-specific (eg, accounting for the problem occurring only with specific hardware or JPLAY settings).
Playback stoppage and skipping as described above (whether using local files or streaming) can occur if there are network interruptions in the connection between Control (or Single) PC and the router or JPLAY app (or possibly the streamer). The outcome (stoppage vs skipping) many depend on the length of the interruption and the Control Point software used.
I have found that this happens infrequently in my system and is due to a momentary interruption in the WiFi network.
A (relatively) brief interruption can result in skipping from a current track to the next track to be played (in my case this occurs with both Bubble UPnP and the JPLAY iOS app). A (relatively) long interruption can cut the connection between the JPLAY app and my Control-PC resulting in playback stopping and resumption occurring only after rebooting the PCs and restarting the app to restore the connection (as explained to me by Marcin). On the other hand, Bubble UPnP seems to be better able to weather a lengthier interruption, restore the connection on its own and resume playback.
Finally, if using JPLAY FEMTO we also should remember that Marcin previously reported that there was an incompatibility between JPLAY FEMTO and the JPLAY iOS app and that efforts were underway to resolve that situation. It is possible that some issues may be related to this incompatibility.
Nonetheless, it would seem prudent when having playback stoppage and skipping issues to first investigate potential network and system involvement, including JPLAY settings limitations due to ancillary software (eg DAC drivers) in use.
Cheers,
Bernie
