How is the clock onboard improved sonically from the one on the previous Net Card XE? How does it compare to the external Master Clock? How would you rate the sonic improvement overall of the new card?

The clock onboard is the same, but the performance increased quite drastically due to 2x lower noise voltage regulators and other modifications in the design. Overall, it is a significant upgrade in sound quality, similar to the difference between USB XE and USB XE EVO.

Best regards,

Marcin

After a few days using this new Net Card XE EVo, i can confirm the significant upgrade compared to the previous XE version  :)

i can hear a significant reduction in background noise, making music even more immersive and fluid.

Congratulations to Marcin on the continuous improvement in musical performance of all JCAT products.  :D

Everybody should consider upgrading. ;)  ;)

PS: I'll see if I can connect it to my DIY master clock and frequency generator, to get as much out of it as with the JCAT Master OCXO clock...

Thanks for your comments, Mellowman.

Unfortunately, this card is actually too much expensive for me and I probably have to change my integrated amplifier.

I received my card two weeks ago and it is already burned in after 300hrs of playing (the last 100hrs are minors but important changes)

In general it is one of the greatest JCAT upgrades ever in terms of SQ with outstanding price/performance ratio. I own the latest JCAT products and have used all the previous versions.

I installed NET CARD XE EVO / OCXO clock combo upgrading from Net Card XE.

SQ changes are even bigger than the latest JCAT USB XE EVO upgrade what I cannot explain and maybe Marcin can elaborate on this. It was clear from the first few songs playing after card installation. I was really surprised.

In details, the bigger change was significant jitter / sibilants /harshness reduction resulting in better soundstage reproduction, clarity, resolution, focus and so on.
