Yesterday, I configured Jplay Femto on my computer dedicated to stream my music with Qobuz and connected to my recent Audio Note Cobra via USB 2.0 câble.
I tried all possible settings but I always hear numerical noise (Distorsion or click whatever you call it).
I tried also with Roon and it works perfectly.
I really want to use JPlay, any recommandation ? Any incompatibility known with my DAC ? It is a simple 16bits/48kHz DAC, plug&play (no driver).
Many thanks for your support

Hi Antoine,
DId you install USB Audio driver for your DAC from the manufacturer? If not, please do it.
And please tell us the exact configuration in JPLAY settings panel? (screenshot is OK)

Hi Marcin,
Sorry for late answer, it took me time to re-setup my full configuration.
To answer your question, there is no driver for my integrated DAC, this was confirmed by Audio Note UK.
I just know that the USB input can accept up to 16-bit/48kHz.
I ended-up using WASAPI, classic engine and 200hz DAC link and it works properly.
I decided to get my full version
When trying to use KS player, it starts to make numerical noise, unacceptable whatever the engine or DAC link value.
Any idea why KS is not working ? This is due to “old school” design chosen by Audio Note ?
Otherwise when I want to change Engine to Xtream or ULTRAstream, I click “ok” but when I come back it returns to “classic” engine. Any idea ?
I can't put an image of a screenshot, site doesn’t allow. Please let me know if you need further details.
Thanks for your appreciated support

The Philips TDA1543 D/A converter chip used in the Audio Note Cobra was first found in late 80s to early 90s budget CD players. Although three decades old, these chips are regarded as remarkably enjoyable and pleasant to listen to by those using them. Still their age and the lack of a (relatively) modern driver may mean that they might not support Kernel streaming.
PS. Although the Cobra can accept digital signals up to 24-bit 176.4 kHz via it's coaxial inputs, the signal is truncated down to 16 bits.
