Hello everyone and Marcin,

After using Jplay iOS for almost 2 years, I decided to take the plunge with Jplay femto on Windows.
I carried out the operation according to the instructions in the manual.
But unfortunately it doesn't work.
Importantly, if I use another application, my DAC receives the signal and the music works.
When I change the JPlay Femto SETTING mode options, my DAC receives the commands, but when I activate the music, there are several problems/bugs.

1. The song advances on the Jplay iOS and after 8 seconds changes the track by itself.
2. The song does not advance.
3. Jplay femto server synchronizes and gets stuck in the middle (PC is empty).
4. The song advance.
Of course, there's no sound even when the music is playing on JPlay iOS.

I installed and uninstalled JPLAY Femto to see if the problem continued, nothing changed.
What am i missing? how can i fix it?

My dac is B.audio bdac one
My PC - I3-9100T, 8GB, 256 SSD. WINDOWS 10 PRO

Thank you

Hi drazic234,

When I've had difficulties with music playback using the JPLAY iOS app and JPLAYFemto I've found that uninstalling and reinstalling JPLAY Femto and then uninstalling and reinstalling the JPLAY iOS app followed by synchronizing the JPLAYFemto server library helps PROVIDED I follow cloclo's advice to delete the JPLAY registry entries during the uninstallation - reinstallation process. Although he suggested that method for dealing with cover art problems, I've found that it can help with some playback difficulties as well.

Instructions for cloclo's uninstallation - reinstallation procedure are available in the JPLAY sub-forum in the " Using the JPLAY iOS App with JPLAY FEMTO" under the "Cover Art Disappearing After iOS App Upgrade" heading.

Hope this helps,

Bernie

Hello BernieK,

Thank you for your reply. I've done what you told me, without success.

I don't understand. Why doesn't it work?

Hi drazic234,

Have you tried different DAC link values in JPLAY Settings?

Hi Berniek,

Yes, I've just tested all the link values again. I've also tried force 24, force 32 and native with all the values.

it is important to inform you that every time i change the value my dac receives a signal from the pc and there is a sound but when i activate the music nothing.

I have also tried 2 engine classic and xtream, ultra doesn't work.

Hi drazic234,

I see you are using wasapi with your DAC, have you tried Kernel Streaming or ASIO?

Have you installed the latest drivers for your DAC?

What kind of tracks are you trying to play, local tracks, tracks from Qobuz ot Tidal?

Hi DC,

Could you explain more about your question please?

If I understand correctly, I have to select my DAC when playing via, so why would I select anything else? For example, with Audirvana I use this output and it works.

I'm trying Tidal and Qobuz. The femto server blocks in the middle of sync, but I'm not using my local files.

Hi drazic234,

I see that you started a thread "JPLAY iOS app B.audio bdac one ex" in the JPLAY sub-Forum over a year ago about a music playback problem when using Tidal. In that thread you indicated that you can play local files with no difficulty, music playback using Qobuz works, and it is only when using Tidal that the playback problem occurs with your "network renderer" (what was the network renderer that you were using?). So can you play local files with JPLAYFemto and the JPLAY iOS app?

You also indicated that you checked with five other people using the same renderer in different countries and Tidal did not work for them either. That might suggest that the problem was related to the network renderer you were using.

In any event, at that time Marcin requested that you "enable logs in the app's settings, reproduce the issue and send me the log file". You did and he indicated that he received the log file. Was he able to suggest a possible solution or identify the cause of the problem based on the log file you sent?

I was unable to find any information about the driver for the B.audio bdac one on the B-Audio website (eg, does the driver permit Kernel Streaming or ASIO?). The UltraStream engine only works with ASIO and Kernel Streaming. The fact that you found the UltraStream engine doesn't work suggests that your DAC driver doesn't support KS or ASIO. You indicated that you tried the Xtream engine, but that works only with KS. Did the Xtream engine work? Have you tried ASIO or does only WASAPI work?  And what is the Combo384 shown in your screenshot?

The problem of Tidal skipping tracks and not playing music when used with the JPLAY iOS app has been raised by a number of forum members starting on page 3 in the "JPLAY iOS app" and the "Jplay iOS app & TIDAL" threads in the JPLAY sub-forum. It might be worth reading through those threads for any information/solutions as well as posting about your problem in the "JPLAY iOS app" thread. There may be something specific to your system or setup with JPLAY Femto that is causing the problem because other forum members have been able to use Tidal with JPLAYFemto and the JPLAY iOS app. So one of them may have a helpful suggestion.

Hi Berniek,
I will answer you in the order of your questions.
Yes, I opened this post until today, Tidal doesn't work.
JPLAY femto doesn't synchronize I don't try.
Let me explain: my dac has several versions, dac only, dac with streaming, dac with preamp, dac with preamp and streaming.
My model is  bdac one ex (dac with streaming) i can use the network renderer and the dac separately if i want.
To this day, Marcin has never responded to my emails and posts on the forum (After these few answers), so I stopped asking, because Marcin stopped to answer.
As I wrote above, I wanted to try to see the combination of JPLAY iOS and JPLAY femto to eventually go towards a PC audio with jcat in the near future.
I bought a Windows PC to see the results; I've been using Macs for over 15 years, So I'm a little rusty.
the pc is new, i have connected my dac and the pc has done the update of the driver all by itself.
Combo384 is the dac
Because of DC's question, I found a driver that came with my dac, I installed it, now it says asio b.audio, but now nothing works, not even audirvana, which used to work with wasapi.

Thank you for Tidal with JPLAY ios. Even though I'm already used to Qobuz alone.

Drazic234,

in Playing via if your DAC support them, you might have the choice between WASAPI, Kernel streaming and ASIO for your DAC.

Do you have these choices?

If it's not the case perhaps there is some driver for Windows you must install.

You might find it here:

https://amanero.com/drivers.htm

It is a driver provided by B.audio?

It's very weird as, basically, a driver provided by the manufacturer might work.

Have you contacted B.Audio?

Well, there's something new.

I installed Windows 11, the DAC was detected as KS BAudio and it worked for 2 songs, it was also displayed output device.
After updating and restarting the PC, the KS BAudio is gone, and the DAC is no longer displayed output device.
Windows gives me a headache  , why not make JPLAY femto with Mac OS, plug and play and it works.

If the most recent Windows update is the cause of the problem, you can uninstall the latest update(s) and see if that restores the KS BAudio in the settings, and the display of the DAC as an output device.

Navigate to Start -> Settings -> Windows Update -> Update History. Navigate to the bottom of the Update History Panels and click on Uninstall Updates. This will give you a list of the recently installed updates with the date of installation. You can then select which updates to uninstall.
