Upon attempting to install AO4 Beta, I encountered the following error:

Windows installation media not found!

Press A to try again or E to exit

I made sure I was using the very same bootable USB that had been used earlier to install WS2022.  What am I  missing?  Please help.

Perhaps this has something to do with my BIOS settings.

WS2022 Datacenter core, AO4 beta (1A/2D), JPLAY/JCAT XE/iOS, Xeon CPU, Industrial ECC RAM, Gustard X26, Singxer SU6, Revelation FEMTO SSD, Linkwitz Pluto 2.1+

Hi Thuan

No changes on that part of the code since a very long time.

Just use the same USB stick that worked already to install Windows.

Best,
AudioPhil

I did a second OS install, more simplified this time, and AO4 setup operation is running now. Hooray 😃!

What exatly does not work, what did you try?

- Did you install FoD?

- Did you install Kernel-Streaming and MediaPlayer support?

- Did you install WASAPI support?

After properly installing AO4 on WS 2022 core, I've learned a few neat tricks that I didn't know when I was back at AO3 and WS 2019 core. Now that I'm ready to activate with a Hardware ID, I think I have got a hang of the task. Also, including FOD and Device Manager with AO4 is wonderful. Thank you AudioPhil.

Fod Installed as I can open devmgmt

Kernel-Streaming/MediaPlayer support installed: YES
Roon support installed: YES
WASAPI/MMCSS: YES

But after going through AO I get an SIhost.exe error

Basically, I install core, update and run AO and HQP5 does not start!

Faulting application name: HQPlayer5Desktop.exe
Faulting application name: sihost.exe

Does anyone know how to customize background color in WS 2022 core? Mine in WS 2029 was 29 95 122.

Hi Thuan,

It would be very helpful if you could post a list of the neat tricks you learned.

Thanks,

Bernie

I’d love ❤️ to, Bernie. In fact, I’m compiling an ad-hoc checklist of steps I went through, some heads up, some gotchas, etc. Control PC is considered done, audio PC where audio driver needs to be installed properly still needs work.

Several items are still not definitive, but one thing for sure: @billgr and @taxman2 have been of great help. Their computer skills, expertise and precision of execution in this matter are what I’m relying on. Most tips and tricks that I’ve learned and will hopefully post are from them 👏.

IMHO, this is a double beta test: Windows 2022 and AO4. Before it’s done, it’s gonna be a lengthy and sometimes rough process but the end result will be highly rewarding. For the last few days I’ve seen glimpses of the heightened SQ.

yeah, a real processor like my i9-12900ks will do it

I still get an SIhost.exe error after booting into optimized OS but HQplayer works on 2022 core

(I can install the 2024-1 security update for some reason...).

My PC is asking me tu update AO to a new version but I do not know where the link is.  I only can find the 3.0 download.

Can someone give me the link for the AO4.0 update?
