HI All,

I've been researching lately DACs and started to think of an upgrade. I am interested in PCM63 chip DACs, especially which in addition  (to own qualities) is more lively, has plenty of treble, energetic and has PCM63 chips. Any advices are very welcome ?

Tried different PCM1702 and PCM1704 chip DACs like Mark Levinson or LessLoss, but it did not engage me into a music like PCM63s.

Thanks

Kuni

Hello Kuni,

my favourite is Parasound DAC 1500...

Mine is modified, receiver and filter 24 bit 192kHz chip.
DAC PCM63 K selection is very, very good...

I was not here for a while. Thanks for all responses.

Tested modified Mark Levinson 36 and in few weeks I will listen to Wadia 27ix.

Mark Levinson with 1702 had great 3D and trebles, yet soft on the bass registers and not as "real" middle, like in PCM63.

My current DAC is Pass Labs DIY and we've now making new version of it. It will have 4x PCM63. Lets see.

PS. Wadia 9 for 11k seems too high for such an old tech, despite it's being nearly perfect DAC. Anyone heard it?

I had Audio Aero CDP with the Karan KA L MK3 two piece preamp and could not compare with my PC + Wadia connected directly to my monoblocks.
