Actually one of my (5)  most beautiful SPDIF DACs of the last 5 years, in terms of price/performance. Really so accurate, beautiful, analogue.

It doesn't cost much to try it out, but you won't be disappointed.

PS: I would like to sell my Dac mentioned above. Bring it in under Trade asap... or PN...

Yes that's exactly the one I got like 2years ago. Best is to skip the whole opamp stage and use a line stage transformer. Wonderful Sound.

This is my successor of the 4495.
Double mono AK4493 at 75 € Test setup with excellent Deutsche Post Übertrager differential straight into MA12070 Amp Board, skipping any opamps on both boards.
btw.that €35 Amp beats my El-84 tube amp as well as all other amps I have in my House. aAttached File  IMG_20230310_153112.jpg   2MB   3 downloads

You wouldn't believe it, such a cheap DAC. But the XMOS U8 + AK4495SEQ combination, with the AD827 OPA, is really great. Of course, only with the Thesycon drivers. The XMOS drivers sound like shit. No comparison to Thesycon. I only ever use the drivers that were current for my WIN2012R2 at the time. E.g. the 3.34

I find that the newer the PC and the OS, the less music comes through.

Have a good listen

2 amps is so much better than 1 amp, that's all I'm going to say about it...  amps are Ampere

with 1 amp it works too, but if you bring 2 amps, or even 3, into the PP USB, it doesn't get fatter, it gets nicer, really. I would not have thought, but now, after trying, since even the small JPlay power supply already makes 2 A, I am purified. Just bridge the 2 x 1 amp, parallel, then it remains 5V, only double amp.... Best are the LT3045, but they only work for 500 mAh, then you need minimal 4 of them....

Try that times...

PS: This is my POWER SUPPLY now today

4.17UV to 0.56UV, the new LT 3045

but is that so much better then the... LT 3045, https://www.diyinhk....357v-14ax2.html

The most important thing is to disconnect the hard drives and the external USB card from the computer power. You can run them with their own power supply. Mostly only 5V anyway. I would not have thought until I tried this. But better give 2 A than 1 A. Really that sounds like a new system.

Hello everyone.

I bought the Wiim Pro Plus. It also has the AKM AKM4493SEQ Dac in it and can process everything.

OMG, it sounds really great. Can also process Amazon Music, Google Chromcast and Apple Airplay I + II. Has a lot of radio stations and can get my music from the NAS or directly from the PC.

You can also control it remotely via the JPlay app, from the NAS or PC, but not the radio stuff yet.

Unfortunately, I was diagnosed with lung cancer and had an operation last week. Now I have one lung lobe less, but maybe I'm rid of the cancer again, the oncologist will tell me next week....

As I've always liked the AKM DAC chip best, I had to take advantage of this offer.

The Wiim is now also getting a good 5V power supply, the Ifi network adapter and I think I can get by with it for the last few years.

I'm now also selling my http://jplay.eu/foru...-price/?p=63718DAC and my one case dual PC, Supermicro, Xenon CPU, audio/control computer. I'm happy to continue using the Jpayplay app, although the Wiim app also sounds very nice.

Have a nice listen.

Greetings mkmind

Hello everyone.

I want to tell you one thing. It used to be the case with the JPlay app that it only played what you had assigned to it via SATA. Today it's a whole lot different. I bought a Qnap NAS because I also treated myself to the Wiim Pro+. Remote control is normally done via the Wiim app. But the JPlay app can do that too.

In the past, you could only integrate the Minimserver via an external device, but today it is on a par with a SATA hard disk.

It's unbelievable what the Jplay app can do with the music. You can also specify the Miimserver as the source and all the music is available, not just via the folder view.

The Jplay app sounds so much better than the original Wiim app. Really.
I listened through AKM Dac for a few days, but I could hear the difference as soon as I switched to the JPlay output. This app from Marcin is great.

The Wiim Pure+ sounds pretty good, but when you control it remotely via the JPlay app, there's no comparison. My opinion!!!

You no longer need to use a PC to listen to JPLAYFemto.

In the past, you could also select the MinimServer, but then you had to continue working in the structure. Today, the music is read in via the MinimServer, just like from a SATA disk in a PC.

There is a big difference between listening via the Wiim Pro + app and listening via the JPlayFemto app. OMG...

I'm sticking with it for now and can only recommend anyone who wants to own a new PC to start with the Wiim Pro+. I have now also connected the Wiim+ Plus to my Wolfson DAC via Digital SPdif Out, but the internal Dac of the Wiim Pro+ is really good/better.

Everyone can decide for themselves. The most important thing is that the music is now treated like a SATA disk, even from the NAS.

I'm more than impressed with what's happening here on my Linn system.

The Wiiim alone is nice, even with its own app, but remotely controlled via the JPLay Femto app, OMG

Have a nice listen, mkmind

A small addendum to the Wiim Pro Plus situation.
First of all, unbeatable for the price, but...

The internal Dac can't hold a candle to my external Dac with the same DAC chip. Similar, but much more unstable.

I now use the Wiim's coaxial digital out to send the music to my Wolfson Dac. I like it best at the moment.

The Wiim app is more like Volumio. Everything works, but then compare it with the JPlay app.

That's such a difference!!!

After the JPlay app had read in all the tracks from the MinimServer, which still brought some errors here and there when selecting music,

the first sound, which was the last sound from the Wiim app, sounded so much nicer, more restrained, not so broad, more honest, to me!

I only bought this set because it was cheap and had good reviews. I was/am tired of having to start at least 2 computers all the time, and then sometimes they just stop working. You have to look, headless? Why is that? Something has expired again, Windows or the drivers for the audio system have messed up again.

Nope, my lifetime has become too short to wait for improvements/changes.

Greetings mkmind

Deutsch:

Man muss schauen, Headless??.
