Hello

since a few days I have network disconnection problems on the JCAT NET CARD Xe which is in an Audio server based on a MSI Mortar B550 motherboard and a Ryzen 5700 G CPU

it is on a base Windows server 2019 optimized with fidelizer Pro and audiophile AO3

I notice network cuts especially to connect to Roon server via IPAD or smartphone

strangely, it happens rather with the linear power supply which delivers 5 Volt 3 A on each output, I tested it with another power supply idem

I removed the card and put it on another PCI slot, same thing

reinstall the Intel i350 drivers for network cards in server and idem

I found that my wired internet connection was indicated "limited connection".

I reset the router and nothing to do, it's the same

I have trouble connecting to Roon and accessing my server

I would tend to say that the network card is at fault

I bought it from an audiophile who provided me with the invoice. It is dated August 28, 2021 and is still under warranty?

thank you for your answer

Hi cpasmoi,

did you try with another Ethernet card such as embedded Ethernet card of your motherboard?

good morning

yes I tried and on the network card of the motherboard it works, I suspect that the JCAT card has a fault
, the latest drivers are up to date

Hi DC

I discovered this problem with audiolinux, checked the hardware on WS2022, and, before investigating more, switched to one Ethernet Port of the SuperMicro MB...

It's very weird as if the problem is on Linux and Windows it could be a hardware problem, isn't it?

For my part I don't have a such problem with JCAT NETCARD FEMTO.

W.server 2022
network card I350 limited connection

Windows 11 Pro

Functional Jcat network card

so it comes from the drivers for Win server

on Windows Pro

update with Windows Update

do not get the driver from Intel

it offers a generic driver...

Good to hear it works

Apart from PSU and drivers it is a good practice to check LAN cables too.

Regards,

Marcin

@Marcin_gps
Jcat net femto use the same intel i350 controller and driver than jcat net XE?

Do It need a specific intel driver or does it work with the generic driver from Microsoft?

Jcat net femto is compatible and works without problems on Windows Server 2022?

Thanks so much
Antonio

Hi Antonio,

Yes, both FEMTO and XE versions use the same controller and drivers. The difference is in hardware design (power, clock and connectors)

I'd keep the MS driver unless you need extra options.

All OS versions are supported.
