Hi all,

I have a JCAT USB, I can power this both by internal molex and by external 5v. Either way Windows 10 doesn't see it. Should it appear as a playback device? At the most simple I'm trying to output sound from Youtube just to check this works. Nothing is happening. Any ideas on what to check?

Thanks, Tim

Hi Tim,

Welcome....

Have you checked the jumpers are set correctly on the card?

Have you checked device manager to see if there are any issues?

Hi Tim,

The same thing happened to me recently, when I installed my Jcat usb xe card. I found that the operating system did not power the card. To check if this is your case and solve it, follow these steps:

- Go to the start button and click with the right mouse button. In the list click on "Device Manager".
- Go to "Universal Serial Bus Controllers". You click on the tab and your card should be there. If you don't know what it is, you have to go looking at each usb connection one by one until you find out. To do this, on each connection, click with the right mouse button and click on "Properties", and then on "Events". There you can see which of them was started and configured at the time you installed your card.
-When you have located your card, click with the right mouse button and click on "Properties", and then on "Power Management", and deactivate "Allow the computer to turn off this device to save energy". Remember that you may have to do this on 2 usb connections from the list. You may need to restart your computer.

I hope I've helped.

Regards.

Hi Tim,

Which USB Card model is that? Did you purchase from JCAT or is it 2nd hand device?

Best regards,

Marcin
