Yes, we will launch in September. We start assembling first batch next week. 

 

First batch will be offerred exclusively for JPLAY/JCAT customers.

 

The price will be 4500EUR.

There was another delay with capacitors, the supply chain is very very challenging nowadays.

 

But we will finally have first units built this week. I will post an update on the blog first :)

 

I want to have all units built before accepting orders.

Ok many thanks for your answer.

I have my HDPLEX 400W out of order, it happened suddenly last night for no reason and I wonder if I wouldn't rather buy an Optimo ATX despite its price.

Initially we will launch only for 110V-240V. 

 

Japan 100V will require a special version. 

 

If there is enough interest, we will make a version fo Japanese market too. 

 

You may send requests via email.

SERVER - HDPLEX H5 Chassis, with ASUS P10S WS motherboard and Intel Xeon E3 1235L V5 processor with 16GB ECC Apacer RAM (extended temperature range). 2 M.2 FEMTO NVME SSD (in Pseudo - SLC mode). JCAT NET XE and USB XE cards with OXCO Master clock update. 2 JCAT Enhancer USB (on motherboard and USB XE card). 1 JCAT USB-LAN Ground Conditioner.
LPSU - Plixir Elite BDC - 5 Volts -4 A with Y cable, with Quad-Star architecture, GSSS360 shielding made with monofilament thread, silver-gold alloy (1%) that powers the library SSD and the OXCO Master clock.
JCAT S ATX OPTIMO - Which feeds the 24-PIN connector on the motherboard and the 8-PIN connector on the CPU. The 12-volt auxiliary socket powers an Idovr DXP- IA5S regulator and through a shielded Quad-Star cable with external connector to plug into the ground socket of the Ubiquiti Edgerouter-X and from there to the wall ground socket.
JCAT OPTIMO 3 DUO with Quad-Star cables with silver-gold (1%) Mundorf wire and shielding to the ground terminal of the connector. 1 line for the OS SSD and the other line with a Y cable, for JCAT XE cards. All terminations with straight or 90-degree Oyaide connectors.

Hi Guys, 

 

I am posting here for those who follow the thread. 

 

I receive a lot of emails asking about powering JCAT cards via AUX output on the PSU. 

 

There is no need to power the cards via AUX output. It is better to power the cards via LP4 molex (HDD) cables which are included. Powering the card via AUX will not be better, because AUX is shared with other rails of the PSU.

Regarding CPU compatibility

 

It’s quite complicated. The OPTIMO S ATX has 23A on 12V line (12V is used for CPU). So technically we have up to 276W power. But let’s start by explaining what TDP is (Thermal Design Power) - this is a capability of dissipating heat from the CPU core. It is not the same as CPU power requirements. So a CPU categorised as 95W TDP can easily draw even 200W power (momentary)! The OPTIMO S ATX is capable of delivering 23A (30A peak for 2 seconds). So limiting compatible CPUs to 95W or lower does not make any sense for OPTIMO S ATX - this comes from  Intel’s Desktop Platform Form Factors Power Supply Design Guide recommendation which we used during development. The Intel’s recommendation is mainly for their server platforms to ensure maximum compatibilities in any possible situation. So with OPTIMO S ATX  e.g. 125W TDP CPU, assuming moderate load, should work fine. My partner son’s PC equipped with i76800k CPU (TDP 105W) and GTX1080i graphic card works fine with OPTIMO S ATX even when he launches games. The problems start when you stress the PC by running e.g. a benchmark - then it will shut down after a while. It is clear that for practical use of an average music server nobody will run benchmarks so CPU utilization and hence power draw will stay on a lower level. I will modify description on the website as this can be very confusing.
