Very pleased wih the sound from my Femto USB board with the Optimo supply

 

It's remarkable how much the board is influenced by the supply

 

I've used :

HDplex linear supply - the weakest of these options

Rcore based linear supply - significantly better

Uptone Audio Ultracap 1 and 1.2 - great sound, however three of them have failed. I've given up

Jcat Optimo - excellent dynamic sound, still accumulating hours so it may get even better

Hi all
I have replaced the DC power supply of the PSU HDPLEX 200 with the JCAT OPTIMO 3 DUO for the two JCAT cards and the SSD Apacer del S.O. placing a Y-wire on one of the power lines.
After more than 300 hours of gameplay the SQ boost is impressive. It's like going from 4K image to 8K image. Makes a dedicated high-level audio source go to reference level. The intelligibility, the timbres, the width, how full the sound stage is, the authenticity of everything that plays, it does not matter if they are CD or HD files.
Both the OPTIMO PSU and the cables and connectors give a high-level feeling. I totally recommend it along with JCAT products for anyone who wants to go as far as possible to achieve a considerable improvement in audio sources and DACs. Carlos

Thanks for sharing the updates. Can you please provide more details on the DC Y cable? My understanding is that the Optimo has Neutrik connector type at the PSU rear.

I've only made a Y-adapter to continue using the cables that come with the OPTIMO 3 DUO based on Neotech monofilament OCC copper wire and Oyaide connectors. Carlos

Thuan, we can make any cable / connector for a customer. 

I'm now testing a Y cable that goes from one output to NET Card and my OS SATA drive. The  results are incredible

Hi guys,

 

I now use  Optimo3 for Jcat XeUsb card and Jcat femto netcard, which were powerd by Hdplex 400 Psu and custom-made Psu before, in a dual server constellation. I humbly can say that my custom-made Psu really wasn't that bad,  but the Optimo was something different, out of the box. More of anything, air, space, dynamic, detail. I had no noise floor before, at least that's what I thought, but now there is still less of nothing: pure music only.

Ps.: Additional grounding both MBs, Audio-Pc and Control-Pc, thru one of their Usb ports makes a remarkable difference in my system.

For pure voltage transmission the OPTIMO 3 DUO comes with  two high quality 1.2m PC-OCC 0.7mm² double shielded DC cables for each of the outputs. By default the cables come with 5.5mm x 2.1mm DC barrel plugs, but the OPTIMO 3 DUO can be ordered with any connectors that match your device - at no additional cost!

The DC cables contribute significantly to the final result, so quite iimportant. the DC cables should not be longer than 2 or 2.5m (max). 

 

As a rule of thumb, I'd recommend paying attention to the quality of a DC cable used with any linear PSU - the better the PSU, the better the DC cable should be. 

 

Coincidentally, a new review of the Optimo 3 Duo has just been published which is a pleasure to read. Great pictures too

Because the OPTIMO 3 DUO power supply unit features two completely independent galvanically isolated DC outputs, each output having an independent isolated ground, it is possible to power any two devices at the same time, without any loss of quality.

In other words, the OPTIMO 3 DUO,  is the equivalent of 2 separate hi-end linear power supplies.
