This link is also no longer working. MC42 on the way? Does the (very) rapid turnover (three versions in a little over 24 hrs) mean that there were problems with the versions that were superceded so quickly? If so, perhaps a longer trial period before release might be worth considering?

My thoughts too.

This seems to happen quite often if you look back in the version history.

Sorry, 36 didn't work out for me. I am back to 34. I've listened very carefully for 4 hours. It is soft but too much, the mids are leveled up to an annoying point, there is no pressure, no expectations for something to happened, makes me almost asleep. 34 has the power, the punch and a perfect separation.

That's my 2 cents but for my setup.

For me it's not back to 36 but back to 34...

I'm agree with taxman2 for my setup.

I liked MC42 right away and it was quite a while before I forced myself to revert to my previous version MC36 for a comparison (I haven't tried any of 37-41).

In my system 42 is like 36 in that the bass weight is good, but it's cleaner, more tuneful and punchier too. Low bass runs are easier to follow and clearly more distinct notes on the chromatic scale (I like that we use a word that is about colour to describe sound too). There's more depth (front/back) to the soundstage too.

I'm sticking with this one for a while (smirk, how well did that work out last time I said it).

Interested to hear your reports...

With my setup MC42 is now the best overall. For comparison, MC29 for me was forward and very clear and a little clinical, but bass in comparison to later releases lean, so I mixed and matched with MC29 on control-pc and MC30 on audio-pc, which helped. MC34 was less forward more musical with better dynamics and bass, and so I abandoned MC29/MC30 and switched over to MC34. I should mention that MC29 is still great on classical music selections with some tracks really benefitting from the forward mids and really clean sound. MC36 was slightly better than MC34 with clear highs and better dynamics and the bass took a leap forward and really opened up. Bass involvment on MC36 that I was hearing, took some getting used to, but now I appreciate it as sounding much closer to the level of that of live music. MC36-39 were all good sounding, with only minor noticeable changes, and with some incremental improvements in bass definition, but overall similar sound signature as MC36. I didn't listen to MC40 long enough to make an assesment. I missed MC41 - was gone in a flash. I immediately noticed an improvement when I tried MC42. As Billgr had mentioned, and I concur, better soundstage and dynamics, also the definition and impact of the bass slightly improved, all the while maintaining the richness and the great depth of the lower end. I would add that highs are also still crystal clear, and the mids are strong but not overemphasized. I will continue to listen for a couple days to better assess vocals, and to see if my overall impressions hold. So far MC42 sounding fantastic. Congratulations and thank-you to Oryaaaaa for another great release!

I would love to chime in with my findings.

Upgraded fro MC36 to MC42 today, the daily releases from Oryaaaaa was too much for me to keep up.with the constant upgrading.

Listening to my reference recording by Aaron Neville Nature Boy: The Standards Album, the soundstage was immediately improved, also was the vocals and orchestration.

Orchestral music has improved dynamic range, the soft passages are now more distinct and clear.

The acappella group The Fairfield Four track Roll River Jordan Roll, brought back the 3D effect in my listening area that I missed with other versions of MC since version 13.

Definitely a marked improvement, I will be sticking with MC42 for a little while.

Cheers!

Hello

@Ben -

Thanks for this update ;)

@All -

*** Short reminder what I said in the previous episode... :D

v34 : it is very good, a very precise sound stage: the instruments are very well placed

v36 : the advantages of the v34 with smoother listening and spinning notes

*** Update....

v36 : After many hours of listening...this version is more like an equalizer configured in "Instrumental Mode"...you like it or not ! :)

v43 : With this version you will found the sound signature of v34 (around 60%) + sound signature of v36 (around 40%) .... : This version may be the middle way ... or not !

Waiting for your feedback... B)

...you sneeze, you loose

I have been out of the Minority Clean loop for a couple of months (busy with crossover tweaks - old-school, tangible, hardware components). Having read about the virtues of MC42, I tried to download it but rev.42 has gone already.

Luckily, Taxman2 has created a very useful dropbox archive of all recent MC version - thank you so much! (https://www.dropbox....5nqzVIe44a?dl=0

The author recommeds rewriting MC executable with one of his proprietary codes ("...Please process MinorityClean.exe sexe64.exe with Rewrite data 3.78 and use it..."). Has anyone tried this and any thought on the impact this has on SQ?

Looking forward to reading your valuable views
