Has anyone tried MC36 yet? If so, please share your opinion. Thanks.

Hi BernieK -

In my point of view and on my system this version it's better than v34 !

v34 : it is very good, a very precise sound stage: the instruments are very well placed

v36 : the advantages of the v34 with smoother listening and spinning notes

What is your feeling with this version ?

Hi Bernie,

Upgraded from MC 34 to MC 36 today.

Here are my impressions, listening experience.

I used the Aaron Neville "Nature Boy: The Standards Album" as my new reference, I think it is very well recorded and has an excellent blend of instruments.

More air around the instruments in the Summertime track on MC36 than on MC34, on the same track Aaron's voice is smoother, the brush work on the drums has more speed and attack.

On the Cry me a River track, Aaron's voice puts a trance like feeling in the listening environment.

Summing up, I think MC36 is an improvement over MC34.

That's my 2 cents worth.

Cheers!!

Leon

I tried it with the Aaron Neville album that Leon mentions as it happens to be one of my test recordings as well!

I also agree with LittleScarabee's observation that the sound is smoother

My listening shows more details, more soundstage, more separation, smoother vocals. But more ringing in my left ear on high vocals. I'm hoping this issue is due to a sinus complaint I have currently. Other than that it's great.

Overall there doesn't seem to be anything that stands out with 36

It just sounds very good.

It seems to make Win10 without AO sound more like WS 2019 with AO

Loving 36. Clearer crisper. Better sonics. Bass firmer. Most importantly very musical

In brief (since MC37 is now out), I agree with the previous posts attesting to the improvements with MC36 (thanks everyone for your comments). But I'll give MC34 another listen in a few days to confirm my initial impressions with my system (unless further improvements are reported for MC37). Beginning to wonder if MC36 might not be a good place to stop for a while.

I tried MC37 briefly but sad to say it was not good in my system. The midrange sounds too dominant and overall quite veiled. This was surprise given the clarity of recent releases. I reverted to MC36 quickly. I may try again sometime, unless there's another release first.

I tried MC37 over 34 with two test songs

Differnce was clear on my system even in the first seconds of the songs I can ablehear the sonic difference.

MC37 increased treble clarity while not losing any midrange detail and musicality also it added more bass after MC34.

I will stick with the 37 but I see now 39 is out:):):)
