Hungrybear, should I replace ES59 and ES61 in your script and have a go?

ES56-ES61 has a big problem. For me this is a big problem.

The scene is flat horizontally. The reason this is happening is because this series pushes highest tones towards the mids and bass is effectively not deep and 3D enough.

If one cares to listen to cymbals with ES55, he will find that they go much higher in the scene, have a longer tone, and create much better 3D imaging. Without this, their is no life into music. I always take cymbals as an example, but vocals and many other instruments go in the highs. If something pushes them down - we have flat music. Its unrealistic. I suggest listening to test records where solo instruments are present.

Same thing goes with the bass. If its not deep and 3D enough - we cant get warm sound. But the problem with the flat highs is much more pressing.

ES55 is still the King and ES 59 has the sweetest mids.

Have you tried ES55 plus ES60 using HungryBear's ES55-ES60 patch with TrustedClean (post #4571 in this thread)?

Also see post #4572 for a script that will automatically create a RAM disk, run TrustedClean and install single copies of ExtremeStabilizer 55 (as a Network Service) and ExtremeStabiliser 60 (as a Local Service). See the post for additional requirements needed for the script to work.

I compared ES61, ES61 plus ES55 and ES60 plus ES55 using my RAM disk script with HungryBear’s TrustedClean 2.0.

Optimizations were as described in my Guide. Settings used for TrustedClean and Process Lasso were those recommended by various Forum participants and were consistently applied with all versions of ES trialed. Process Lasso was started after TrustedClean had finished its operations.

TrustedClean Settings
TrustedClean installed in Local Disk H:
Launch as: NT Authority
CPU Priority: Default CPU priority
Launch Mode:
  Control-PC: Multi-User: Network + Local Service
  Audio-PC: Multi-User: SYSTEM + Local Service (ES61 only)
  Audio-PC: Multi-User: Network + Local Service (ES55 plus ES61 or ES60)
Set High I/O Priority to all ES/MC/LE instances
Portable mode selected

Process Lasso Settings (for all ES versions on both the Control and Audio-PCs)
CPU Priority: Always Below normal
CPU Affinity: TC Default
I/O Priority: TC Default
Memory Priority: Always Medium
Induce Performance Mode
Prevent Sleep: Prevent PC
Exclude from ProBalance
More: Disable Idlesaver; Exclude from SmartTrim; Exclude from Foreground Boost

Caveat: the following comments apply specifically to my system, ears and room. Your mileage/kilometerage will likely vary.

To be brief, ES61 came across as very clear, perhaps as micika reported because of a more pronounced upper midrange. This seemed to result in ES61 sounding slightly thin in the lower to middle mid-range, or perhaps it merely seemed so due to emphasis in higher mid-range frequencies. In any event, to me the balance seemed uneven.

So I modified Hungry Bear’s TrustedClean5560Patch to work with ES55 and ES61. This improved things somewhat with the inclusion of ES55 reducing some of the imbalance of ES61. However, the sound still seemed to lack proper balance across the frequency range and came across as slightly ‘’hollow’’ (not a good audiophile term, I know).

To convince myself that the balance remained an issue on my system, I reverted to ES55 plus ES60. Now the sound had that “fullness”, for want of a better word, that been lacking. There was sufficient detail at the top end, a nicely rounded (again for want of a better word) mid-range and a well-defined lower end. For me the ES55 plus ES60 combination sounds best with my setup.

I’m curious to learn what other Forum participants think of the latest Extreme Stabilizer offering.

NT Authority

I/O 우선순위: TC 기본값

Translation: 55+60 is better for my system too.

Greetings all,

fai3176 is correct. I missed a typo in the RAMHTC20ES55ES60.cmd file. I have corrected the link in the original post (#4572 in this thread) and the new link is also posted here:

Many thanks to fai3176 for spotting the typo (colour me embarassed).

Cheers,

I don't use Trusted Clean. I use Process Lasso. These two should not be run together, TC author once wrote.

I find Power Profile managing through Process Lasso and Windows very useful. It tweaks sound considerably.  PL also allows me to tweak windows processes as I desire.

I run ES on a single machine. I have tried 55 and 59 together. There is some improvements, but more on the other side. ES59 because it has the best mids and 55 because of the highs and lows.

I find mixing two ES lame, for my taste. There is already too many options of tweaking in my head. Adding one more process with countless combinations is overwhelming.

Also, I find hard to believe that Orya meant to build this app as using two versions or more at once.

--------------------

I forgot to mention in my previous post.

Density of instruments in the mids is much bigger in ES56-ES61. This leads to better focus.

Instruments and vocals in 55 shine vertically.

To clarify, you can use TrustedClean and Process Lasso as long as you start Process Lasso after TrustedClean has completely finished installing ES or you do not set Process Lasso to change TrustedClean's default CPU Priority for ES prior to running TrustedClean. Note that one of the TrustedClean setup options is to optimize Process Lasso indicating that both can be used under the right conditions.

Greetings all,

fai3176 is correct. I missed a typo in the RAMHTC20ES55ES60.cmd file. I have corrected the link in the original post (#4572 in this thread) and the new link is also posted here:

https://drive.google...?usp=share_link

Many thanks to fai3176 for spotting the typo (colour me embarassed).

Cheers,

Bernie

Thanks Bernie and fai3176

Listening to some good music with ES55-60 combination , and most things specially details is a breath-taking improvement over my beloved MC246. could do better with a little bit more bass emphasis but I'm satisfied enough.

Have tried later versions of MC and some ESs as well but non was quite there to replace my beloved MC246.

For now I stick to this combo for a while, before tempting myself testing future instances of ES.

Thank you everyone contributing to this : oryaaa , HB , BernieK and others.

ES61 = WindowsEventThread RDRAND + CuresEventThread SMSW by RDRAND setup

Function { InitSetup RDRAND postion ... Process SMSW position } effected.
Thank you for your review of the JPLAY forum.
ES61 adjusted to perform better than ES55+ES60

So, try only one instance of ES61..  ;)

Currently it is with the "network" account but I think it sounds the same with other users. It is just necessary to use a "elevated" account.
My Gustard A26 speaks with grace (DSD256 via HQplayer).
