I would like to give Server 2012R2 DE a try and have downloaded the ISO.

It would be easy since I've prepared my new Laptop with Core I5 6xxx for dual boot with an additional

110GB SSD. But I don't know how to activate it if I find somewhere a key for an acceptable price.

Can it be activated offline? Has it to be online during the prolongation of the tryout period up to 1 year for Microsoft to count down the remaining time.

I run my Audio PC completely  offline without AV, Firewall, any network and will continue to do so.

OTOH I'm not in a hurry because at the moment my old Laptop with W7 and Core I3 2xxx is fine since ES51.

SQ with ES55 is better than with any other version before.

Need online to activate.

After the installation of the DE, disable the windows update feature and firewal.

Connect the DE to the Internet, let the OS stabilise, and issue the below command at DOS prompt:

slmgr.vbs /ato

Remve the network cable after this step. I will post a link if the above step does not work.

Just a quick thought for all those trying to get a smoother more liquid more analog sound.   I am a fiend for Mad Scientist GCE.  Graphene Contact Enhancer.  If its a sliding connector of any kind GCE it.   Works better than a lot of the really expensive things out there, according to a number of people I have spoken with.  It's not cheap, but not horrible.  5ML is around $50, 10ML $80.  2ML $30.  Apply once according to instructions should last at least a year. But once a year is appropriate.   I realized this afternoon I had never done the internal contacts on all my power cord plugs.  They are all screw down clamping type.  Nothing soldered.   Already did the external blades and iec females quite some time ago.    Relistened and yes immediately more relaxed, better tone and harmonics, subtly better detail. probably from a slightly lower noise floor and blacker background.  It gets a bit better over 24hrs as it settles and migrates over and around the connector surface.  Just simply allows better power flow.   Anyway, system sounds better than ever.  Waiting to see what ES57 brings.  

 

 

Update:   I GCEd all the computers power connectors between my modular EVGA 650 Platinum.  Fans never come on because I only run about 25% loads.   So pin by pin I GCEd with the smallest applicator Mad Sci sends.

 

Holy smokes same differences all over again, maybe a hint more.  Ridiculous improvement.  These two mods and I have seemingly a new system.   May have to go and rebuild my computer.  GCE cpu and all the memory slots and sticks.   That might really be amazing!

I tried the Extreme Stabilizer 55 and it works(nice upgrade from stock sound.)

I already tried MC versions until 288... Then I stopped seing the forum.

Today besides ES55 I tried to try MC299 And LE61, and when I click the .exe, they immediately stop working, What I'm doing wrong?

I use Windows 8.1, the recent ES55 works here , and also MC288 worked with this Laptop.

does The latest versions of MC only run on specific PC?

Does someone have been able to run MC299 /LE61 on windows 8.1 or 8?

Any similar problem here?

Everything above ES50 no longer works properly with DDR3 for me. But that doesn't matter, once you've used the new JPlay app, you don't want to anymore...

ES55 works fine on the DDR3 memory in my controlpc. Not saying that's a universal truth though.

This also appears to be obsolete, my controlpc does not have AVX2.

I'm not buying an apple device, I'm sticking with android. ES55 and ES56 SQ are well beyond the SQ of ES50 most natural timbre and musical.

Both ES55/56 works on my RAM DDR3, but Acer motherboard, intel i5 gen 5th, W10.

Maybe because of the BIOS or motherboard?

The result of my baseline test:

W10 audio/control RAMDisk, cable between the two HW, private network, JPlay 6.2mini:

The sound was acceptable but I felt slightly uncomfortable, due to the jitters(???) compared to cd player as a transport.

Btw, my dac was supposing immune to the jitters.

With ES56/TC 2.0 default:

Uncomfortable feeling was gone and,

Rich harmonics and tonalities;quiet background therefore separation of instruments within the soundstage were distinct and prominent; and PaRT, of course.

Soundstage was wide, opened and good depth.

Some said the ES55/56 were analogue-like, and some said the it has changed the sound to unreal.

If I listen to heavy metal, without the ES will be better because more raws and heats.

P/S: if my memory serves me right, single pc partitioned 2012 R2 DE JPlay7mini sounds better then W10 RAMDisk without the ES. It sounded analogue natural and without the uncomfortable feeling

Hi, MC or ES have never been limited to W10 or RAM above DDR3. Everything’s fine with my old Laptop W7 and DDR3. But for the last 3 versions of MC any CPU without AVX2 was excluded and from ES 45 if I remember correctly to ES 50 CPU without RDRAND was excluded, in my case Core I3 second generation. Since ES 51 no problem.

I want to try ES56 but could not find the answer to the following question:

Is it still running if I simply start it and start jplay in hibernate mode ? Or does jplay stop this process as well ?

I could not find this info somewhere.
