ISOLATE NOISE FROM THE NETWORK AND GET BETTER SOUND

 

Disconnects electrical connection between devices connected together via Ethernet network, prevents current flow, ground-loops & AC hum which effectively eliminates noise in modern audio systems resulting in better sound quality.

The Ethernet cable entering the NET Isolator from home network (the router or the switch) does not have to be very high quality, but it is recommended that the short Ethernet cable from the NET Isolator to the network audio component (music server, network renderer) is audio-grade – it is of most importance

The NET Isolator eliminates harshness caused by the network noise and makes the listening stressfree. Noisefloor is lower, music flows more effortless and finer details can be heard easily

I use the NET Isolator with my single PC setup in 2 scenarios:

1) between the router and the JCAT NET FEMTO. The Ethernet cable from the router to the NET Isolator is not audio-grade. The cable from the NET Isolator to the PC with JCAT NET is JCAT Signature. The last 1m of the cable is crucial, similar to power cords. 

2) between the router and the M12 SWITCH MAGIC or GOLD. Then the switch connects directly to the JCAT NET Card FEMTO. 

 

Note that music does NOT have to be streamed over network - the improvement in sound quality is always as long as your audio PC/music server is connected to the network. 

 

I can recommend the NET Isolator to anyone who is not interested in buying expensive network switch such as the M12 SWITCH GOLD / MAGIC. I'd recommend investing in one short (1m) audio-grade ethernet cable, the best possible you can afford and use this ethernet cable to connect your PC/music server with the NET Isolator. This combination, depending on the quality of the Ethernet cable, will not offer the same level of performance as the expensive M12 SWITCH GOLD / MAGIC, but can offer the performance that is not too far away.

Hi Marcin, how are you? I have a question about this device: in case of interconnection between computers using two JCAT Net Card FEMTO, is this NET Isolator still required? If so, why? Is its technology no longer (or shouldn't be) built into network cards? I shouldn't be long buying my two network cards, so this information interests me a lot. Thanks!

I have not tried it in this configuration. But my guess is that it's not needed between 2 JCAT  NET Cards as these are 'clean' devices.

Hello everyone
Today I received the JCAT NET Isolator and I connected it with a 1 meter Gentxu-audio Linkway CAT 8 Ethernet (JSSG360) cable to the SinglePC. On the other side of the Net Isolator a normal 5 meter cable to the router that gives it a switched source of iFi, with noise cancellation that I have been using for months. From the first moment, the sound is cleaner, more intelligible at all frequencies, there is more of everything ...
After four sessions of twelve hours the SQ has been refined, probably because the filming of the Linkway CAT 8 Ethernet cable is finished, which I have used before for other tasks ....
Today I installed Fidelizer Pro 8.4, which makes the SQ superior to that of Fidelizer Libre that I have installed and huge when compared without Fidelizer.

Hello everyone,

Just receive my JCAT NET Isolator, actually abit shock by the improvement of the sound. I already powered my network switch and router with LPS, I listen to Tidal streaming most of the time , with the NET Isolator the music becomes clearer and more relax. This really tells me one thing, that my Home Network devices is really noisy! ... For streaming music I really need to plan to upgrade along the network path.

Expected less when buying. An audible change - even betten when adding high quality ethernet cable. One of the best tweak for the money.

 After installing the JCAT Net isolator using the Linkway CAT 8 Ethernet cable I've gauged the improvement as Next Level , not just a 3 to 5 percent improvement. I would highly recommend this upgrade to anyone sitting on the fence.  

I'm  going to assume that the direction for installing is not directional. I tried both ways and didn't notice any change.

This has to be one of the biggest improvements in sound for the money.

Did not know what to expect, but am very pleased to report that the music sound more real and involving. Makes me want to hear music all night

Strange thing is that the improvement gets even better after some days of playing. 

 

Just for the info:My net switch is grounded, but still the isolator makes a big difference.

Im using a very short but cheap Lan wire from isolator to the JCAT Net card, and the next thing has to be a better Lan cable instead.

Carlos, I'm not sure. You'd have to check. I use one between Edgerouter and AP, but my AP is different. There is a small, but noticable improvement.

It is my first experience with an AP, but once installed and with the Internet connected, the tablet downloaded the information much faster than with the provider's Wifi and much more stable. And it is very easy to configure with the App.
On the other hand, and knowing the importance of power supplies in routers, switches and APs, having an external DC input apart from POE allows you to experiment in that section.
And then there is the sale price of € 80 without the wall wart but with the ceiling or wall anchors and a flat cable.
The aesthetics of the Ubiquiti APs is more modern and beautiful with its blue circular light, here we only have two green LEDs how much the internet works and orange if you unplug the cable that gives it the internet.
I would recommend it, although as I said at the beginning, it is my first experience in this field.

I disabled the LED in ubiquiti AP

 

Tomorrow I should receive Cicso AP which can be powered by optimo/initio.
