I've been using Jplay since long and started using Roon sometime back, I've fallen in love with the UX of Roon but get irritated that it cannot output directly to Jplay ASIO driver.

I currently use Hqplayer then output that to Jplay driver.

I'm wondering if I could expect someday in the future Jplay to be roon compatible ?

I feel Jplay by itself is a TOP played better than Hqplayer or anything else I've tried, its the closed that comes to top shelf cd playback.

I'm sure there would be more like me who want to use Roon with Jplay in 2 PC mode where Roon core is installed on a NAS or a different PC.

Regards,

sbfx.

What happens exactly that you can't output to JPLAY Driver? Did you check our manual?

I’m also interested in improving the ROON/JPlay integration. Outputting ROON to JPlay driver works for me but doesn’t sound as good as JPlayStreamer. Is there a way of getting ROON + Jplay sound as good (or close) as JPlayStreamer? Or should we just wait for ROON to support OpenHome so ROON can be a control point for JPlayStreamer?

Not possible I'm afraid.

And I doubt Roon will ever support OpenHome. They created their own architecture for a reason...

That”s really bad ;(
I tried ROON in all possible configurations
ROON > DAC Driver
ROON > JPlay Driver
ROON > HQP > JPlay
ROON > HQP > NAA > JPlay
...
...
And nothing sounds right and as good as JPlayStreamer. I might try Sonore ultraRendu with ROON in the future to see if it sounds right.

Dear Marcin,

Please do something!!!! I simply can’t listen to anything but JPlayStreamer if you could only find a way of getting ROON UI to work with JPlayStreamer.....

It’s funny but now I use ROON only to find what I want to listen from my library and tidal and then I switch to BubbleDS/JPlayStreamer to actually listen to music.

Ask Roon - it's their product :) If it doesn't support OpenHome there's nothing we can do...

Marcin,

Did you or anybody else have a chance to compare JPlayStreamer to Sononre UltraRendu? UltraRendu is 10x more expensive than JPlay so the question is if it’s at least as good as JPlay.

The results of such a comparison will vary dramatically depending on what hardware platform is used for JPLAY (JPLAYStreamer).
