Hi,

I can't use JPlay (KS to XMOS driver) with HQPlayer 3.15 on Windows Server 2016 both in GUI and in core mode. I tried both with AO and without. HQPlayer crashes and exits every time the playback starts. The previous version of HQPlayer(3.13.3) works without any issues with the same settings. HQPlayer 3.15 with ASIO XMOS driver also works OK.

Has anybody here had the same issue?

Hi Marcin,

It's been a while since I reported this problem. Yes, I follow the HQP thread on CA and it seems like many other users experience the same problem. MIska's response was not to use JPlay as it needs fixing. Do you have any idea on what can be wrong? It's really sad that I can't use HQP with JPlay anymore, it was an unbeatable combination in terms of SQ.

I understand your point. But what should I do about the issue? Neither you nor Miska are willing to take care of the issue. Very frustrating and disappointing.

Looks like there're three choices. 1/ Go with HQPlayer, leave Jplay; 2/ Go with Jplay, leave HQPlayer; 3/ Wait 'til two programs work together in the future, hopefully.

that's really strange. The issue is easily reproduced. Both you and Jussi have access to the code of your software. What can be easier than running it through the debugger and see where the problem is? Why can't you just cooperate with him and resolve the issue?

I suggest you also keep an eye on the "JPLAY not working with HQplayer recent versions" thread in the JPLAY section of the forum. Recent posts may be pointing to the nature of the problem and possible way forward for the developers.

The latest version of HQPlayer 3.16.1 seems to be working now with JPlay. I did a quick listen an everything works and sounds good.
