Sorry to ask such a basic question, but would somebody please point me towards information relating to the use of Hibernate Mode.

How do I initiate it on a single PC running JPlay Streamer with Fidelizer Pro?

Will I be able to control playback and Album selection remotely via Bubble whilst in Hibernate Mode?

Do I need a USB stick, and if so what is it for?

Sorry again for these basic questions, but I can't seem to find anything in the manual about it.

Quote from our manual:

Hibernate mode eliminates dozens of OS jitter-inducing processes & hundreds of threads, providing best possible sound quality. Please note Hibernate is ‘extreme’ mode and is not guaranteed to work on all systems! Hibernate mode is more likely to run in Dual PC mode with a dedicated AudioPC. On single PC USB stick needs to be inserted into USB port to start playback – unplugging the stick will be the only way to stop playback. In DualPC mode stick si not needed as you can fully control Hibernation of AudioPC from your laptop (‘ControlPC’).

Thank you for the explanation. As my PC is in the room above my listening room, inserting a USB stick will be a little inconvenient.

Cheers, D

Plugged in all the time? How would I then start/stop playback. Happy to play complete albums, I'm not from the iPod Shuffle generation, LOL!

Is there a detailed explanation anywhere of how Hibernate works, would realy like to use it if possible. Can't see much about it in the manual and I've checked a lot of other posts on the forum but they all seem to be from people who already have an understanding of this mode.

As well as sound quality improvements, I hope maybe using hibernate mode will reduce the now constant PC/Hard Disk activity that I'm not experiencing since installing JPlay and Fidelizer. The activity light on the PC used to blink occasionally when changing tracks using my previous software, now it is constantly on and my hard drives sound like they are constantly in use. Is this normal?

JPlay Streamer - XStream mode

Fidelizer - Extremist mode.

Once again, sorry for this basic request and thank you for any help you can give.

Hi, I leave mine plugged in all the time (using a dedicated single computer) as Marcin suggests. After all the songs selected are played, then the machine pops out of hibernation... I cannot help on the HDD problem, but does not seem normal, seems something else happening there, but easy enough to check, just try playing one or two songs in hibernate mode and report back what happens.. good luck !

Thank you for the advice. Memory stick plugged in and Hibernate mode is working beautifully. As soon as the selected tracks have finished playing, the computer comes out of hibernation. I will try it with higher sample rate and also dsd files later. Brilliant!

Cheers!

Update:

All PCM sample rates and DSD are working fine :)
