Bernie,

I would have sworn I had 8.56 and I can't find it.

I'm really sorry.

I tried 8.57 sse 4.1 version on my control pc w/ 2320 i5 processor. The player loaded up okay but gave no tuning options other than Galaxy 100 and mmx+. I could get stardust x2 but could not access secret menu for stardust x4. When I loaded my playlist, I had a 4 minute+ wait only to hear a series of clicks when the file started playing. I quickly reverted to my old BHs.

I use Infinity Blade 7.23 for hi-res and DSD. I use Infinity Blade 7.27 with SLC card loading 44khz files. I am still very happy with SQ from these older versions.

Try SSE 4.1 with old acac avx 1.0 and not jplay (not supported) The result its intersting.

I am using an older version of ACAC. Since I use Jplay to stream music from my control to audio pc, Jplay is a must. I'm not set up to play at an acceptable quality as a single pc.

Is it just the SSE 4.1 version that doesn't support Jplay?

The old acac is better than the latest sse 4.1 but combined with the new revision bug head is an interesting result.

You have an MSB DAC?? I just read about their company. Wish I had one. I would love to try their Analog DAC with an i2s input via my SU-1. Alas, I just sank some money to upgrade my W4S DAC2 DSDse with the ESS 9038 chip. No new DAC for me for a few years, at least. Plus I need to upgrade my PCs........on and on it goes, where it stops no one knows

That DAC interests me more than the SSE4.1 BH. I'll play some more with BH tonight.

I have a MSB IV Platinum with upsampling quad usb and various modifications. I have long had to worry about dac but not pc / dac connection. Anyway I think it's a good news bug development head 4.1 but I would prefer a version with avx 1.0

I've been using BHE happily for some time now.

However, I'm going to embarrass myself by asking (per the message above mine) doesn't ACAC run automatically with BHE?

It has to be run separately? I confess I'm confused about that feature as well as Rewrite as well. I thought that Rewrite ran as a part of the BHE process as well.

Now that I've humbled myself, I hope someone will at least allow me to get something out of my post by answering my questions.

Thanks in advance to anyone who helps me out.

Joel

Hi Joel,

In the past, it was necessary to run ACAC prior to starting BH. However, I haven't used any versions after 7.27 so that may have changed.

Again, in the past, Rewrite would run automatically once you started playback of selected files. That may have been only to Rewrite the music files, as you had to 'manually' Rewrite other files, eg the JPLAY files. Again, I'm not certain whether that is different in the more recent versions.

Previously, there were some posts about ACAC and Rewrite procedures to follow. I believe they were the same as, or similar to, recommendations that Hoiroyuki had posted on the Bug head site.

Cheers,

Bernie

Thanks a lot for your reply, Bernie.

It's hard to know with the post-7.27 versions of Hiroyuki's program as we're well over 100 updates past that point.

But, as long as we're trying to offer information, I'll offer a little.

I'm currently using an SLC based SSD for playback. I was previously using the slc version of a micro-sd but that method was so painfully slow that I asked Hiroyuki and he suggested the SSD option.

It's expensive to be sure but, if you can afford it, well worth the savings in time and gain in sound quality.

If anyone else has any input on the use of ReWrite and ACAC, I'll be gratefully to get it.

Joel

+1

I need Jplay for my 2 pc streamer setup. BH is useless without Jplay ASIO interfacing.

Unfortunately it is not yet supported at this time. Whistle ... I hope that with the next versions will settle this issue beyond acac because it's coming out a nice job. Is there no way to contact him personally? I would like to write an email..

Holydio, I have had personal emails with Hiroyuki. I will email him and request that he support JPlay ASIO.

He responded positively to my request to support WS2012 in the past. I'll let you know his response. It is always interesting because his English is not great.
