Hi All, would appreciate DAC recommendations that work with Jplay Mini. I tried a Chord Qute EX so far, it sounded worse than the DAC inside my HP laptop so I'm assuming there is a problem with this combo. Many thanks!

I can recommend the Ressonessence Concero. I use a Burson Conductor  Virtuoso (pcm1793) myself with the Concero as a USB bridge.

Are you sure you have Jplay setup correctly? Have you tried WASAPI as well KS?

Wadia Di122 is another DAC in the price range.  1499 is list price so you should be able to get it for a bit less.

I strongly recommend the Nad M51. Then get the Yellowtech Puc 2 Lite converter. No need for a pre, go directly to power amp.

Sound is amazing.
